GILDA'S CLUB LECTURE
Gilda’s Club Madison is hosting a lecture on legal issues that can arise when facing cancer on Wednesday, January 7th, from 6 to 8 PM, at their clubhouse located at 7907 UW Health Court in Middleton. This lecture is free and open to Gilda’s Club members as well as the general public. Please RSVP to 828-8880 as there is limited seating.

EDGERTON HOSPITAL BLOOD DRIVE
Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, along with Rock River Valley Blood Center, will hold a blood drive on Wednesday, January 7th from 10 AM to 4 PM. The Rock River Valley Blood Center bus will be parked at Edgerton Hospital, 313 Stoughton Road. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment by calling the laboratory at 608-884-1370, however walk-ins will be accepted. First time donors are also asked to bring a photo ID. Rock River Valley Blood Center is Edgerton Hospital’s sole provider for blood and blood products.

SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK IN FORT
Any family in need of food in the Fort Atkinson area can come to St. Joseph Parish on Thursday, January 8th between 2:30 and 4 PM. St Vincent de Paul and Catholic Charities will be distributing food from Second Harvest at 1660 Endl Blvd. in Fort Atkinson. Participating families should bring their own grocery containers to carry their food home.

DIVERSITY ACTION TEAM OF ROCK COUNTY
The Diversity Action Team and the YWCA of Rock County will co-sponsor a panel including all Janesville City Council members. The focus will be “Diversity in Janesville: Where Do We Go from Here?” Members of the City Council will be sharing their insights about Janesville’s diverse population and how our city can provide a more welcoming atmosphere. The event will be January 8th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Academy for International Studies in Janesville. If you have any questions please call Jeanne Carfora at 608-756-1815.

LAKE MILLS BLOOD DRIVE
There will be a blood drive in Lake Mills at the City Hall Community Center on Friday, January 9th. The drive runs from noon to 6 PM and is affiliated with the American Red Cross. If you have any questions or need to make an appointment please call Chuck Kaden at 648-3610.

EDGERTON HOSPITAL YOGA CLASSES
Edgerton Hospital and Health Services will offer the community two six-week yoga classes. The beginner’s class will run from Saturday, January 10th through Saturday, February 14, 2009, and will be held at Edgerton Hospital from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The cost is $40; class size is limited, so please register early. HUBBLETON RIDERS SLIDE-IN BREAKFAST
The Hubbleton Riders will hold their Slide-in, Drive-in 26th Annual Snowmobile Breakfast on Sunday, January 11th from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Riverbend Inn, Watertown. We will serve a country-style breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, American fries, french toast, and pancakes. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for kids 6 to 10, and free for kids 5 and under.

OLBRICH GARDENS SUNDAY CONCERTS
Bring some warmth to the blustery winter weekends with a hot concert at Olbrich Botanical Gardens. The concerts offer everything from jazz to folk and Celtic to polka music every Sunday afternoon at 2 PM through March 29th. Relax with a concert in the Evjue Commons, and then soak up the warmth of the tropics with a visit to Olbrich’s Bolz Conservatory.
